Artistically transformed cabinet – Gerhard Fuchs, 2026

Artistically transformed cabinet – Gerhard Fuchs, Speyer

In 2026, Speyer-based artist Gerhard Fuchs transformed a simple cabinet into an individual work of art. Its original function remains intact, while colour and artistic detail give the piece a new identity. It is a striking example of how creativity and the sustainable reuse of existing furniture can come together.

The double doors feature a colourful mirrored composition. A turquoise-blue cabinet body provides a calm frame, while the vivid red top adds contrast. The four legs are particularly playful: they are designed as oversized coloured pencils, complete with silver-coloured metal bands and pink erasers at the ends.

Behind the doors is a practical storage compartment with one shelf. The artist's signature appears on the side.
